QUV Lamp Replacement
1.The SolarEye irradiance control systems of QUV/se, QUV/spray, and QUV/cw can maintain the irradiance of the lamps. When the lamp output decays, the controller automatically increases the power supplied to the lamps. An error message will be displayed when the irradiance drops to 0.10 W/m² of the set value. Lamps are generally replaced every 5,000 to 6,000 hours or once a year. When operating at a high power of 1.55 W/m², the lamps should be replaced after 1,000 hours of use.
The replacement method is shown in the figure below:
2.Note that QUV/basic does not have an active lamp life output control function. As the lamp life gradually decays with usage time, regular alternation or replacement is required, including discarding the oldest lamp every 400 hours and swapping the six existing lamps. Each replacement results in the following lamp lives: 0 hours, 400 hours, 800 hours, and 1,200 hours. Thus, the irradiance received by samples will be the average of these four different output aging curves. QUV/basic will display a prompt to swap lamps every 400 hours.
The lamp rotation method is shown in the figure below:
Tips:
●To prevent excessive dust accumulation on the lamps, wipe the lamps with a clean cloth every six months to keep them clean.
●After replacing the lamps, re-calibrate the irradiance must be performed.
