QUV Lamp Replacement
1.The solar eye irradiance control systems of QUV/se, QUV/spray and QUV/cw can stabilize lamp irradiance output. When lamp output declines, the controller automatically increases power supply to the lamps. An error alert will pop up once the irradiance drops by 0.10 W/m² below the set value.Lamps are generally replaced every 5000 to 6000 hours or once a year. When operating at high power of 1.55 W/m², lamps need to be replaced after 1000 hours of operation.
See the figure below for replacement procedures.
2.Note that QUV/basic is not equipped with active lamp lifespan output control function. Its lamp irradiance gradually fades with usage time, so regular lamp rotation and replacement are required. Operators shall discard the oldest lamp and rotate the remaining six lamps every 400 hours. After each replacement, the lamp service hours are classified as 0h, 400h, 800h and 1200h. In this way, the samples receive average irradiance from four different aging output curves. QUV/basic will send out lamp rotation reminder every 400 hours.See the figure below for lamp rotation steps.
Tips
· Wipe lamps with a clean cloth every six months to remove dust deposits and keep lamps clean.
· Re-perform irradiance calibration strictly after lamp replacement.
