Overview
Q-Lab offers a Universal Water Repurification System as an option for QUV® and Q-SUN® test chamber models with water spray. This accessory can be factory installed or field-retrofitted. The system can save over 1,000 liters of expensive, purified water per day in a test cycle that calls for several hours of water spray, and can pay for itself in a matter of months.
Unlike competing systems that simply recirculate dirty water, Q-Lab's repurification system repurifies water in addition to conserving it.
It is important to note that the repurification system is not a primary purification system.
This newly-redesigned and improved system is a single unit, compatible with both QUV and Q-SUN testers, that includes: a highly-durable pump, sensors for "Smart Communications" to tester, stackability for two systems, increased DI cartridge and carbon filter capacity, and capability to run two Q-SUN or QUV testers on one unit.
Operation & Maintenance
During a spray step, the used water drains into a reservoir. The repurification system's pump draws water out of the reservoir and pumps it through a series of three purification filters - one carbon and two DI cartridges - to remove contaminants. The repurified water is then reused during spray steps. A float valve automatically adds water to this reservoir to replenish any losses due to evaporation (typically 5 liters per day). No manual refilling of the water reservoir is required. Communication with the tester's main controller provides constant performance monitoring and notification for clogged filters and low water situations. Maintenance is simplified with easier access and clear reminders.
Configuration
The Universal Water Repurification system is a single, standalone unit that is compatible with QUV/spray and Q-SUN Xe-2 and Xe-3 testers.The system can be retrofitted in the field to testers equipped with Gen 4 main controllers. The system can be configured to provide repurified water to two testers at the same time.

1.Repurification system is only available for testers with Gen 4 controllers. Gen 4 main controllers are standard on QUV series 93+ and Q-SUN series 79+ testers. Any QUV tester series 48+ can be retrofit with a Gen 4 main controller.
2.Water Repurification Systems are not to be used with Q-SUN Xe-3 Dual Spray equipped models (-DS).
3.Repurification cartridge lifetime is highly dependent upon inlet water purity and specimen cleanliness. Exceeding the value shown here may reduce lifetime significantly. Water purity requirements can be met by most reverse osmosis, deionization, or distillation systems; however, Q-Lab recommends an RO/DI system for all Q-SUN spray models.
4.Water repurification filters cannot remove organic or fine particulate contaminants. Test specimens that disintegrate, or leach organic compounds, may contaminate the water.
5.Water consumption does not include evaporation. Q-SUN Xe-3 "E" and "X" models use different humidity generation systems.
6.Actual shipping weights do not include the tester. They depend upon model and whether the shipment is domestic, ocean, or air.
